Features of the SSL-02

01. Ultra-wide-angle shooting at 150°
This wide-angle conversion lens is designed exclusively for underwater photography. When used with a lens that has a focal length of 24 mm (35 mm equivalent), it provides a magnification of 0.47 and enables ultra-wide-angle shooting with an approximate field of view of 150°.

It features a wide image circle that allows for use from the wide-angle end (25 mm) of the TG-7 and TG-6 without vignetting.

02. Light reaches us because we can get close to it
With a wide-angle lens, you can fill the frame with even large subjects when shooting from close range. The shorter shooting distance ensures that the flash light reaches the subject effectively, allowing you to vividly reproduce colors like red and yellow—which tend to fade underwater.

Furthermore, because the layer of water between the camera and the subject is thinner, the effects of water turbidity and suspended particles are minimized, enabling you to take clearer photos.

Since you can capture the entire subject even when you get close to it, the light from the flash or other lighting sources reaches the subject effectively. This allows you to take photos with vivid colors and sharp details.

To capture the entire subject, you'll need to take the photo from a distance. This makes it harder for the flash or light to reach the subject, resulting in photos that look bluish and lack vivid colors.

03. Wide-angle macro photography
Not only does it allow you to shoot with an ultra-wide-angle view, but it also maintains focus even when you get close to your subject, making it ideal for wide-angle macro photography.

The dedicated lens hood helps prevent flare and protects the lens.

04. Bayonet System
The lens mount is a bayonet mount that dramatically improves the speed of attachment and removal. By attaching the included “Bayonet Mount Base M52” to the housing’s M52 port, you can attach and remove the lens with a single touch.

Locking System
The “Bayonet Mount Base M52,” which attaches to the housing, is equipped with a locking mechanism to prevent the lens from accidentally falling off.

05. Reflectance of Less Than 0.5%
The lens construction consists of four low-dispersion glass elements with broadband AR multi-coating and a durable polycarbonate resin dome lens. It achieves a reflectance of less than 0.5% in visible light.

Aberrations are corrected for underwater photography, ensuring that the image remains sharp even at the widest aperture.

Even with a lens that has a focal length of 24 mm, vignetting or peripheral image aberrations may occur due to factors such as the lens configuration or the mounting distance of conversion lenses. In such cases, please use the lens at a zoom setting where the vignetting is eliminated.

When Using an External Flash

PT-059 / 058 / 056	Since the PFCA-03, which comes with a waterproof protector, interferes with the M52 bayonet adapter, please use the optional “FIX Optical Cable Adapter MG01.”
